A part of serving on State Lead Team is choosing a leadership service opportunity. You will select your top two choices from the following options on Tuesday of the Summit. View the list below for some examples of service opportunities from last year:

Texas Freshman Summer Internship (2 students)

Term of service: May - July, 2023, located at Dallas Baptist University and Wayland Baptist University

The Texas Freshmen interns will spend the summer helping graduating high school seniors make connections to continue their spiritual journey in college. This project will include serving as Team Leader for Khaki School at all sessions of Super Summer on campuses across Texas.

Super Summer is a teaching ministry hidden in a camp that supports churches by teaching students 8th grade through college freshmen to know and share the Gospel. The program includes three teaching sessions each day that are focused on learning different elements of the Gospel, morning small and large group team dynamics, and evening session-wide worship led by a guest speaker and worship leader. Texas Freshman interns will serve as small group discussion leaders for college freshmen. In addition to leading small groups they are responsible for serving students in sessions, in group dynamics, during meals, and in the dorms.

Summer Missions Team: Highland Lakes Camp and Conference Center

Join us this summer as we share the gospel with over 9,000 campers to impact lives. Become a member of the Highland Lakes Camp Summer Missions Team for a 12 week life-changing experience for college students who love Jesus and want to serve Him wholeheartedly through camp ministry. You can serve Summer Session 1 which is May 20 - July 1, Summer Session 2 | July 1 - August 10 or all twelve weeks. You will receive room and board, sweet t-shirts, great memories, new friendships, and the opportunity to make over $4,000.

Texas Baptist Christian Life Commission Hunger & Care Intern (1 student)

Term of service: February - December 2023

The CLC Hunger & Care Intern will work with over 100 different ministries across Texas & the world committed to alleviating poverty, community development, and holistic transformation in the name of Jesus Christ. You will follow the ministries reports and share their success and victories through our social media channels, write blogs about Hunger & Care ministries, and get to visit with Hunger & Care ministries. Skills needed: social media skills (Instagram / Facebook/ Twitter), good communication skills, writing, and basic knowledge of Word / Excel / Google platforms. Bilingual is preferred but not required.

Texas Baptist Christian Life Commission Communications Intern (1 student)

Term of Service: February - December 2023

Do you love Micah 6:8? The CLC is committed to putting faith to practice through seeking justice, loving kindness, and challenging believers to walk humbly with God. As a communications intern, you will get to engage with all three branches of the work of the CLC (public policy / community ministry / ethics & justice). You will learn about the work each branch does and then create engaging and exciting content to share on social media. The communications intern will also have the opportunity to write blog posts and record videos on issues that are (1) connected to the mission and work of the CLC and (2) of special interest to the intern. Skills needed: social media skills (Instagram / Facebook / Twitter), organization skills, good communication skills, writing, and basic knowledge of Word / Excel / Google platforms. Bilingual is preferred but not required.

Texas Baptist Christian Life Commission Communications Intern (1 student)

Term of Service: TBA

Work alongside key leaders and pastors as they help churches to reach their communities with the gospel through leadership events, camps, and other opportunities.

SUMMER

Front-Line Cultural Exchange
Service Dates: May 28 - July 22, 2023, Orientation May 19-21, 2023
Location: North Africa

Share Truth on the front lines of NAME with English-speaking college students through our cultural exchange program building relationships with students, in Arabic study with a local teacher, in mentorship and debrief sessions with a long-term worker. Seminars will expand your understanding of local history, culture, and religion. You’ll be a learner, a partner, a sower, and a friend.

Lease-Reached Research Team
Service Dates: June 5 - July 28, 2023; Orientation: May 19-21, 2023
Location: Dallas, Texas

Get to massive lostness! Would you be willing to hit the streets and reach college campuses? Do you care about the next generation? You will take on the role of university students reaching university students.

Riverside Church Planting
Service Dates: May 22 - July 24, 2023; Orientation May 19-21, 2023
Location: Denver, Colorado

92% of people in our city are spiritually disconnected, and most are apathetic to the gospel. You will be serving across our two church locations in Denver through picnics in the park, gathering information on surrounding neighborhoods to inform community outreach, and building relationships with community members by plugging into community activities.

IMPACT

Digital Media and City outreach
Service Dates: May 22 - June 22, 2023; Orientation May 19-21, 2023
Location: Buenos Aires, Argentina

Our city is home to fifteen million people with three million of those concentrated in the city center where our team works. One strategy we are utilizing to connect with new people is digital media. You will help with create content and get images for our digital outreach. You will also be involved with prayer walking and mapping for church planting, University outreach, and English club activities.

Fresh Eyes and Experience
Service Dates: June 5 - June 23, 2023; Orientation May 19-21
Location: New York City, New York

Over 100,000 West African Muslims live throughout the five boroughs of New York City and many have never personally met a Christian or even have the complete Bible in their own language. Our main goal is to search out and rediscover these communities to find people of peace, people that desire to hear the Gospel. Come serve with us and help us see with fresh eyes. Activities include teaching English classes, prayer walks, visiting (mosques, shops, homes, etc.), and developing lasting relationships to lead into Bible Studies.

Women's World Cup
Service Dates: July 19 - August 1, 2023; Orientation May 19-21, 2023
Location: New Zealand

You will join a large team of volunteers serving a support role alongside a sport outreach to the women’s World Cup finals. There will be 3 to 4 individual women’s soccer teams playing against New Zealand Academy teams, and during that friendly competitive activity, will be sharing their faith. As a member of the support team, you will help with preparation and logistics for the teams as they land in Auckland. You may also attend a game and spend time in the Fanzone engaging people from all over the world. The team will also be involved in a local community care project in Auckland. You will serve in an intern role or support staff role to (International Sports Federation (ISF).

Bounce Summer Intern

Term of service: starts June 1, 2023 and lasts approximately 8 weeks

Join the BOUNCE Collegiate Staff to assist in mobilizing Middle School, High School, and College Students for the purpose of Long-Term Disaster Recovery and Church Planting.

As a member of BOUNCE Collegiate Staff, you will travel as a part of the 4-person team to assist BOUNCE Coordinators in the implementation of 6 missions throughout the summer. Length of service is approximately 8 weeks. Training and preparation begins May 30. Some 1-day training experiences may be required in the spring. TBM Communications Internship

Term of Service: May - August, 2023

Description: TBM delivers help, hope and healing in Texas and around the world. Through a hands-on communications summer internship, you'll help people join in ministries such as disaster relief, water well drilling and youth discipleship. Create compelling social media content that helps people engage in God's work around the globe. Cultivate relationships with influencers to help people connect with God's work. Communicate God's love. Use your design, social media, photography or writing skills to share God's message of hope.
